Martinsville Wildlife Removal: Questions & Answers

Martinsville is the northern limit of the Critter Outlaws service area. The city sits along the West Fork of the White River, with Morgan-Monroe State Forest a few miles south. Critter Outlaws provides humane wildlife removal, exclusion and cleanup for Martinsville homes and businesses, and most of the work starts the same way: figuring out what animal is there.

Questions about a noise or a hole? Call (812) 821-4462. The line is answered 24/7, and regular hours are weekdays 8 AM to 5 PM.

Identifying what you’re hearing

“Something is moving in my attic during the day.”

Daytime noise, especially early morning and late afternoon, often points to squirrels, which are active by day. Heavier thumping at night is more likely a raccoon. An inspection confirms which one. See squirrel removal and raccoon removal.

“I hear scratching in the walls at night.”

Light scratching and scurrying can be mice or rats. Small dark droppings along baseboards or in cabinets are another sign. See mouse removal and rat removal.

“There’s a strong smell under my porch.”

It may be a skunk using the space under the porch or deck, or an animal that died there. An inspection tells you which. Skunks are removed humanely and the opening is sealed. See skunk removal.

“I saw an opossum by the trash. Do I need to do anything?”

One passing through isn’t a problem. One living under the house or in the garage is, since it can tear insulation and leave a mess. See possum removal.

“Do you handle businesses?”

Yes. Commercial buildings and offices can get birds, bats and rodents like any house. See bird removal and bat removal.

“Are you animal control?”

No. Critter Outlaws is a private, owner-operated wildlife removal business. Animal control handles domestic animals and some public-safety situations. Wildlife in or around private buildings is what Critter Outlaws handles.

How the work is done

Every job starts with a free inspection and estimate. After that:

  1. Remove the animals humanely by trapping or one-way exclusion, according to Indiana law.
  2. Exclude: seal the entry points so wildlife can’t come back the same way.
  3. Clean up where needed: remove droppings and nesting material, sanitize, and remove or replace wildlife-damaged attic insulation.

Work is limited to wildlife exclusion, seal-up and wildlife cleanup. We respond as quickly as possible.
